Situated in the heart of Speyside and overlooking the ruin of Blairfindy Castle, this Scottish Tourist Board 4 star rated cottage once housed workers from the world famous Glenlivet Whisky Distillery and is an ideallocation for exploring the Speyside 'Malt Whisky Trail', the Deeside 'Castle Trail' or the 'Speyside Way' long distance walking route.
The Property has recently been refurbished to a high standard and has accommodation comprising one double and two twin bedrooms, a combined lounge/dining room with open coal or log fire, one bathroom with bath & shower and a well equipped modern kitchen.
Local Area DetailsA highland glen of farms, forests, rushing rivers, and high heather hills; Glenlivet is at the heart of Scotland's whisky country with Tomintoul and the Glenlivet whisky distillery, and within the Cairngorm National Park. Our accommodation provides an excellent base for outdoor activities: walking, cycling, and touring the whisky and castle trails of Grampian. We also have a picturesque ruined castle just outside the door. Surrounded by hills, Ben Rinnes, Ladder and Cromdale and sheltered from the prevailing winds by the Cairngorms, Glenlivet's climate is surprisingly dry and the area remains relatively free from the voracious midges found in the west
Additional InformationAbout WalkingWe are located within both the Glenlivet Crown Estate and the Cairngorm national park, there are waymarked routes passing close to our door, and organised ranger walks are offered.
About FishingLocal fishing offered on the Spey, Livet of Avon (pronounced An) rivers.
About GolfingThe cottage is close (four miles) to a newly established (2nd season) golf course, set in the grounds of Ballindalloch Castle. The course is open to non-members.
About SkiingThe Lecht Ski centre is within 10 miles, and is Scotlands second resort to the Cairngorm centre. Saesonal ski-ing offered January to March (weather dependant).
