Culkein Lodge sits right on the water's edge in one of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes overlooking an inlet of Eddrachillis Bay. From the lodge, seals and otters can be observed swimming in the water and resting on the many small islands.
In recent years, the lodge has been refurbished to a high standard with a contemporary kitchen and traditional sitting room. The kitchen has a slate floor and marble worktops and is well equipped. The dining table comfortably seats 8 and the bedrooms accommodate 7 most comfortably and a further one on either a sofa bed or pull out bed.
The sun room, which can seat everybody, offers magnificent views and a chance to watch the sun set over the sea from the comfort of an armchair.
The bedrooms (2 double, 1 twin and 1 single with pull out bed as well) and bathrooms are tastefully furnished and decorated and the spacious utilty room is a great place for removing outdoor clothing and boots after a day on the sea or the hills.
One of Scotalnd's most loved and well known mountains, 'Suilven', is very close to here and is a spectacular climb with views across the whole of the noth west and out to the Hebridean Islands.
Prawn fishermen land their catch at the jetty here and bags of prawns can be purchased direct from them.
This quiet inlet of the sea is ideal for canoeing - and you will surely be accompanied by the resident seals.
