Spacious 4 piece shower room with white suite. Opening window. Fully tiled floor and tiled walls to dado height. Washing machine is housed in here.
Kitchen with seating for up to 6 people. Facilities include fridge, blender, 4 stove top gas burners with 2 electric rings. Coffee maker, electric oven and grill, toaster, iron & board, cooking utensils. Double sink.

Very large room with three windows overlooking the garden, village and mountain range. A wrought iron sofa bed (pictured) with back care mattresses. Room divider curtains. Soft seating for 7. DVD player. ipod/iphone Dock. CD player/radio/tape deck.
Linen, gas and electricity is included in the let. All beds are made up for your arrival and there is plenty of extra bed linen if you wish to change the sheets during your stay. Our local changeover lady can be hired for cleaning at extra cost.

This property is in the centre of the mountain village of Brucciano. The villa can be entered through the private garden either by steep ramp or outside steps to the terrace and front door. A car is essential for this kind of holiday and the village car park is at the foot of the garden.
Large private garden and sun terrace where most of our family time is spent. Dining table, chairs and two sun loungers available to relax on in the Tuscan sun!
Bird watchers, walkers, climbers, food lovers, nature lovers will enjoy the real Tuscany here. Local morning markets in the two main towns of Castelnuovo and Gallicano are interesting. Many local festivals held in July and August each year. Free open air Puccini Opera each summer provided by the local council. Nearby Barga ('The most Scottish Town in Italy') twinned with Port Seton and home to artist John Bellany is a beautiful hill top town and a must see. Open air pools in both towns with children's pools. This apartment is situated in a National Park.
1 hour to the beach either over the mountains (spectacular marble mountains but sharp bends and confident drivers only advised!) or by motorway from Lucca. Viareggio is the commercial beach resort with designer shops on the promenade, beach side restaurants, pools and changing facilities. A pine forest play park with children's rides, cart/bike/buggy hire, restaurants/bars is parallel to the beach and a cool shady alternative choice in the heat of midday.
Pisa airport approx 1:15 by car to apartment. Bologna 2.5 hours. Car hire essential.
Castagna Apartment is in the centre of the village of Brucciano. Molazzana 3km, Gallicano 7km, Castelnuovo 8km, Lucca approx 40 mins - 1 hour drive. Train station 9km Barga-Gallicano with low cost travel to Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Viareggio & Sienna.
Nearest restaurant and bar is 1.2km from Brucciano - Il Volpino (indoor and al fresco dining). Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Festival days. Fobbia - open 6 days with children's play park, indoor/out door dining, table tennis, forest walks. Totto restaurant in Sassi (4/5km from Brucciano) for excellent pizzas in the evening as well as traditional, local, seasonal food.
