Peyia is a delightful village set 15km north west of Paphos on the hillside overlooking Coral Bay The village lies about 3km above Coral Bay and once a settlement for shepherds it has now become an enthrawling haven for holidaymakers from all over the world It proudly holds onto its Cypriot way of life and charm having said that the village has grown dramatically in the last 10 years with several tavernas in the main square Cypriot coffee houses supermarkets banks church and bars The centre of the village is the original area and this is where all the locals meet eat at the local tavernas and sip coffee and put the world to rights on a daily basis The village also has several supermarkets a fishmongers butchery shops pharmacies bakeries banks and hairdressers Peyia is approximately 35 minute drive from Paphos airport and is well placed for access to the 3 main golf courses in Cyprus all within 30 minutes drive and sits at the fringe of the Akamas Peninsula a National Park area designated for special protection from development
