Casa Parsons is set in a spectacular hillside village location with stunning panoramic sea views and is close to levada walks, coastal trails and hill villages. With easy access to the new improved road infrastructure Casa Parsons is indeed the ideal base from which to explore the whole of the Magical Island of Madeira.

We are a private family owned and run Bed & Breakfast and have just two spacious and comfortable guest rooms available for you to really feel at home ... In addition, we can cater for your special dietary needs, details on request. And with our wealth of local knowledge we can certainly point you in the right direction for the best walks, tours, eats and drinks available on the Island.
 
With a warm and friendly welcome we invite you to enjoy your holiday in the relaxed and informal atmosphere of Casa Parsons, Located in the hillside village of Gaula, situated to the WNW of Santa Cruz, some 200 metres above sea level and 1 Km from the coast line with magnificent 180* panoramic sea views.

The spacious and sunny terraced areas surrounding our Casa offer you the perfect viewpoint to take advantage of the spectacular sea views which include the Deserta Islands, Ponta de Sao Laurenco and the year round sunrise, with the incredible full moon rise also.

Together with the terraced seating areas the new lower sub tropical gardens to the front of our Casa provide you with the perfect opportunity to relax, reflect, pause and ponder.....

Our local village church, square and nearest selection of cafes and bars are all less than a 10 minute uphill walk away.

Our two nearest restaurants, mini mercado, pastelaria and more cafes and bars, are all also within a 10 to 15 minute walk away, via a fairly steep "Vereda" [workers foot path] with a mere 207 steps!  

The local bus service is both excellent and extensive with the nearest main bus stop a 10 minute walk away down the vereda.

Whilst a hire car is recommended (road location map and directions to Casa Parsons provided), we do offer a free airport collection service if you choose not to drive.

Santa Cruz is a very old coastal fishing village full of character and charm The local villagers quiet way of life carries on unchanged alongside the surrounding recent developments These include a new Hotel Marina Lido and Aqua Park all serving to compliment the old village and its friendly peoples Ponta de Sao Lourenco Just 20 mins drive from Casa Parsons The Far East The perfect place for stunning coastal walks picnics and scenery Arid in summer verdant in winter always truly spectacular Prainha Beach 15 mins is the only beach on Madeira blessed with some natural yellow sand Situated on the south coast of Ponta de SO LOURENO it is the perfect place to relax swim and sunbathe with a cafe bar showers toilets sun terraces and real sand En Route to Prainha Beach is Machico 10 mins with its modern open plan sea front promenade fountains and seating areas Now complimented by a small new man made sandy beach and modern marina it is a lovely place for a gentle coastal walk The spectacular mountain backdrop also invites you to take an invigorating walk along the local Levada high above the bay with spectacular views After Machico is Canical its new harbour dotted with Tuna fishing boats The Whale museum provides a fascinating insite into the local fishing history Travelling further afield to the West the amazingly level Plateau of Paul do Serra lies some 1500 mtrs high and is reached via the stunning Encumeada pass With Levada walks Mountain trails and Coastal areas easily accessible it is a truly spectacular place to visit
