A short distance up the mountain, actually it's a hill, from the main lodge is the 1700 square foot Yummy Guest House: a single story home with a driveway that takes you right to the door. The perfect spot for a romantic getaway, a retreat for a family or group, or an artist workshop. The guest house is located just one short mile from downtown Burnsville and 35 miles from Asheville. Artist studios, fishing, rafting, hiking, golfing, museums, theatre, music, shopping, and good restaurants are all within minutes.

There are 3 bedrooms; 2 with queen beds and one with twin beds, two full baths, a fully equipped modern kitchen, and a spacious deck with a breathtaking view of the mountains and the Yummy Mud Puddle, a.k.a. the pond. The master bath has a whirlpool tub and separate shower. The living room has a queen size sleep sofa to accommodate another one or two guests. The Yummy Mud Puddle Guest House is dressed out in the arts and crafts of the region.

Rabbits, chipmunks, and squirrels are abundant with an occasional visit by a wild turkey or deer. Birds are plentiful including the Carolina Chickadee, Titmouse, Cardinal, Finches, Pileated Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Junco, and the Ruby-throated Hummingbird.
