Located just 5 miles north of the fishing village of Xcalak, and less than 10 miles from the Belize border, Casa de Suenos is the perfect destination for travelers looking for a less traveled route to paradise. This area of the Yucatan is steeped in Mayan history and tradition, offering access to many of the major as well as less-known Mayan historical sites. Besides the wonderful tranquility of the beaches, Xcalak is also a world class destination for fishing, snorkeling, diving, and eco-touring. We have an incredible reef system right in front of our villa, and the white sand beaches stretch for miles in either direction. The seclusion and unpopulated feel of the area add to its allure and charm. Your only company on the beach at times will be blue crabs, pelicans, and other wildlife. Xcalak is a quiet, laid back town, a perfect place to call your second home.
asa de Suenos has a 2 bedroom oceanfront apartment with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, dining area, and private balcony located on the 2nd level in the main house. It shares a huge rooftop deck with the two lower units. These 2 Oceanfront lower units each have a private bathroom, and share a large eat-in kitchen adjacent to the patio and facing the beach. The lagoon house has a lovely studio apartment with double bed, pullout, and hammock, along with a private bathroom. This unit has a small kitchen and also has partial views of the ocean and lagoon. Casa de Suenos located in Xcalak in the Costa maya region of southern Quintana Roo just 7 miles by water from the Central American country of Belize Xcalak has the look and feel of Mexico and Belize all rolled into one so close to the border that English is spoken fluently by many but Spanish is still the predominant language This is a great place for those who are seeking the remote less refined areas of the Caribbean Coast with all its natural beauty above and below the waterline Xcalak is surrounded by incredible natural beauty and is a world class destination for fishing scuba diving snorkeling and ecotouring There are hundreds of tropical bird species troops of howler monkeys jaguars wild boar deer crocodiles along with nurse sharks reef fish moray eels turtles and tons of other sea born life that waits the visitor to Xcalak and Casa de Suenos The surrounding lagoon system and backwater bays provide endless new turns and twists to explore while paddling a kayak and the beaches stretch on for miles beckoning to those who visit to enjoy a long walk to nowhere in particular There is not much in the way of nightlife however there is a nice town center where there are several top notch eating establishments a few cantinas and seaside bars along with small stores for groceries and other essentials Xcalak is off the beaten path far from the hustle and bustle of the resort strips to the north There are many Mayan ruins in the southern part of Quintana Roo Some of these are Kohunlich Tzibanche Xpujil Rio Bec Becn Chiccana El Ramonai Oxpemul Maruchn Chacchoben and Calakmul to name a few Lake Bacalar Bahia Chetumal and San Pedro Island Belize are all short day trips that offer something to do besides relax on the beach and sip a cool drink
