Our traditional Maine fisherman's cottage was completely renovated in 1998 and offers comfortable, contemporary accommodations on the rocky Maine shore. Our cottage sits on 1 3/4 acres with 350' of sandy and rockly Maine shoreline at the gateway to beautiful Downeast Maine. We are located just 45 minutes from Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park amidst some of the most beautiful coastline in the United States.
Our cottage comfortably sleeps up to six persons (Master BR with double bed; 2d BR with 2 twins; queen size pull-out sleeper in the Great Room.) Full-size bath with tub/shower combination. Kitchen has modern appliances: full-size refrigerator; full-size range and oven; microwave; toaster oven; coffee maker; and all the utensils, cookware, and dishware you need to enjoy your stay. Guests only provide their linens and towels. (Hosts will supply linens and towels to overseas guests for $ 25 USD on request.)
Great Room offers 25' of continuous windows with breathtaking views of Pigeon Hill Bay, Bois Bubert Island, and Petit Manan Island lighthouse and the north Atlantic. See loons, terns, eagles, ospreys, herons, puffins, eiders, cormorants, mergansers, murres, and hundreds of other shorebirds, waterfowl, and songbirds. Watch the local lobstermen pull their traps daily (in season). Petit Manan National Wildlife Refuge, renowned for birding, is 1/2 mile from our cottage at the end of our rural, surfaced road. Hike the Refuge trails and see grouse, deer, porcupines, fox, and occasional bear and moose.
