About Driving

House is 25 min drive from Molokai's airport and a 20 min drive to the town of Kaunakakai. Here you can find good grocery stores and some restaurants. Maunaloa is closer to the house (about a 10 minute drive). For visitors who like to go beyond paved roads, rent a Jeep.

About Ferries

Molokai Ferry travels between Lahaina, Maui and Kaunakakai, Molokai daily. The trip takes approx 90 minutes.

About Airport Information

Molokai's Airport (MKK) Ho'olehua is serviced by Aloha Airlines (through Island Air). Visitors can fly to Molokai from most all of the other neighboring Hawaiian islands daily. Both Budget and Dollar operate airport kiosks for car rentals.

About Scenery/Beauty Spots

Papohaku Beach is is one of the longest white sand beaches in the Hawaiian chain. This is where the sand is obtained for the famous Waikiki Beach in Oahu. Currents along Papohaku Beach are strong and swimming is with caution especially during the winter months. Great for walking and sun-bathing. Other calm beaches for safer swimming are close by (5 minutes drive). Beautiful sunsets and the twinkling lights of Honolulu over the water in the nighttime.
