Sleeps 2 Cosy Rural Ground Level Apartment Spain
Facade of the Whole Traditional Whitewashed House
Apartment in Andalucia, Spain
Property Details
Casita Marguerita is a cosy rural apartment on ground level. It is part of a traditional whitewashed house and has its own entrance and parking. Outside there is an Andalucian vine-covered patio. It is set in a hamlet against a backdrop of rolling olive groves. It is quiet but not isolated being only 3 minutes drive from the main road and 15 minutes journey to the main motorway which connects to the rest of Andalucia.
The apartment has a bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite walkin and stepover shower and loo with washbasin. There is a double wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside table and lamps in the bedroom. An Andalucian kitchen supplied with a good array of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery adjoins the bedroom. The kitchen is freshly stocked with basics like bottled water, milk, juice, bread, butter, jam, eggs and cornflakes for your arrival. There is an open plan sitting/dining area with a bookshelf of books, games, cards, origami, selections of DVDs and videos for the DVD/VCR player for viewing on the TV. There is also a hi-fi system and a small selection of CDs.
The house is naturally cool in summer if the blinds are kept down, windows shut and shutters closed. There is a portable standing electric fan for those hotter days. A bamboo blind and patio umbrella are supplied for when the vine is not fully mature to afford sufficient shade while sitting out.
During the cooler mornings and evenings, there is a wall mounted heater in the bedroom to take the edge off the cold and blankets and hot water bottles for added warmth. A portable halogen heater is also supplied for cooler weather and for unseasonally cold weather during the spring month of March and autumn month of October, we will supply a gas fire when necessary.
Local Area DetailsCome and experience the hospitality of the Andalucians which is well known and the cultural sites of Andalucia which are well documented. We are within easy distances for day trips to Cordoba Granada Malaga Jaen Cadiz Sevilla and Gibraltar.
Go for long walks in La Subbetica or the Poniente Granadino and take your binoculars with you and watch and count the different species of birds. Pack a picnic and eat lunch sitting amongst the unique landscape fo El Torcal. Spend a day in Granada City and imagine what life was like during the days of the Moors in La Alhambra. Absorb the heady scent of the orange blossoms in the Patios de los Naranjos of La Mezquita in Cordoba City. Meander the streets of the Old Jewish Quarters and treat yourselves to tea and sweets in one of the quaint teashops. Go and see the curious cavehouses in Guadix and make your way to a "mercadilla" and see how the locals talk passionately about the quality of fruits and vegetables. Lose yourselves in the spectacle of the thousands of flamings at the Laguna de Fuente de Piedra. Have tapas at a typical bar and mingle with the locals chatting noisily away and playing cards. Sit in one of the many cafeterias on the cliffs of Ronda and marvel at the commanding bridge while sipping your cafe con leche. Savour the delight of freshly fried churros dipped in sweet sticky hot chocolate for a breakfast date with the locals in a restaurant/bar. Wander in the streets of Sevilla City and feel the "duende" of the gypsies of bygone days in the air, and reward yourselves with watching a flamenco show. Be inspired by Washington Irving and follow his route or the Route of the Caliphs and compare the characteristics of the different white villages and baroque towns like Zuheros and Priego de Cordoba............all these and more to do in Andalucia.
And when you are tired and decide not to venture too far, pack a BBQ and head for the mountain village of Iznajar and its beautiful lake and her own Valdearenas Beach and spend a lazy afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of it all............parking is anywhere you can find a space on the beach.
Exhausted from all your outings, stay in with a glass of crianza in the patio under the vines with a good book or soak in some sun sitting out on the gravelled garden to rejuvenate yourselves before making your journey home.
