We own a number of cottage-style mobile homes on the superb PreCatalan site in Barcares, near Perpignan. This 4* site is a 10 minute walk from 8km. of gorgeous sandy beaches. The site is quite small, very clean and really friendly. It is owned and managed by Jenny Galidie, who is originally from the West Midlands,(so no language problems at Reception) and her French husband Francois. The facilities on the site are truly excellent, with a restaurant with regular themed evenings, a snack bar and take-away, library with English books and internet access, a laundry and Froggy's Bar with entertainment every night. A new pool complex with walkways, bridges, islands and a variety of other water features is currently under construction and will be completed by April 2009.
Local Area DetailsBarcares is a 20 minute drive from Perpignan Airport and the City itself. The Old Town boasts a number of superb, reasonably priced restaurants and is excellent for shopping. From the site it is a 40 minute drive to the Spanish border and a similar time to the foothills of the Pyrenees. All along the coast around Barcares there are beautiful little resorts such as Leucate and Salses which are famous for water sports, the very beautiful Collioure, Canet, St. Cyprien with it's championship golf course and Barcelona, for me the finest City in the world, is only a 2 hour drive away.
