Another nice place for picnicking is the Elliots Beach which is also known as the Besant Nagar Beach. Fort St George that houses the Secretariat and the Legislative Parliament is much popular with tourists. As you head to the Pantheon Road you get to see the Government Museum with a fascinating collection of Chola bronzes and other historical artefacts. You can spot the deadly king Cobra python and vipers at the Guindy Snake Park and those who hold themselves good at bargaining can take a stroll along the Pondy Bazar and Ranganathan Street in T.Nagar to get hold of knick knacks and curios.
