Local Area Details

The beach and park are just a pleasant five-minute stroll away.The park has miniature golf, a boating lake both powered and pedalled, two go- carting tracks, bouncy castles and a station for the Paignton- Dart steam railway. The track runs the length of the beach for a great view of the old steam trains by all.Further along the beach you have quality kiosk vending of food, an excellent beach shop, water sports and boat hire and the Quay West Water Park. On the whole, Goodrington is an excellent family resort both day and night. It is safe from traffic, no busy roads to cross and has two large beach areas and lots of rocks to explore!
Paignton harbour and indeed Paignton itself is just over the headland and a ten- minute stroll away.
However, if you want to go further afield, then beautiful Dartmouth is a 15-minute drive away, as is Brixham and Torquay itself. A little further and you have the absolutely stunning Blackpool beach and surrounding countryside, Salcombe and Exmoor National Park with its waterfalls, trails and picnic areas.
If you want to golf, Churston Golf Club and links is just a few minutes drive away with its wonderful coastal views and then on perhaps to the 11th century Churston Inn for lunch or dinner.
Wine tasting, in Devon, you bet! Go along to Sharpham Vineyard just outside of Totnes. Walk tour the vineyard alongside the valley of the Dart (glorious at any time of year), check out the fine cheeses made and surprise yourself by sampling and enjoying the quality of the wine.

If boating is your thing, both Torquay, Brixham and Dartmouth marina’s are all excellent for either day- moorings or boat hire/ trips. The Dart/ Totnes river trip is a special recommendation on a spring, summer or autumn morning.
