CASA DEUS MEDIEVAL HOUSE WITH LOG FIRE BRUGES 2P Belgium
House in Flanders, Belgium
Property Details
A charming self-catering holiday home for 2 people, with original medieval fireplace, in the centre of Bruges, Belgium
Life is heavenly... at Casa Deus! This authentic medieval almshouse has been lovingly renovated from top to toe and furnished in contemporary style with respect for the historic character of the place. A romantic hideaway for two, situated in a picturesque little street inside the old city ramparts. The crackle of the roaring log fire adds to the unique atmosphere of this cosy house.
Casa Deus combines the nostalgia of a historic place with contemporary comforts. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a luxury, modern shower cubicle and toilet, a convivial log fire and a sunny terrace. The perfect retreat for an intimate break!
Casa Deus can easily be reached by car from the ring around Bruges and is only a 5 minutes’ walk from the railway station. The house is centrally located in a quiet street, where you can easily park your car. A 2 minutes’ walk you leads you to the city centre where you can see world famous masterpieces of art, like the paintings of the Flemish Primitives, and the most beautiful statue of Bruges: Michelangelo’s Madonna with Child in the Church of Our Lady.
The little house has four rooms. You enter directly in the living room with the original fireplace. Next to this room is the kitchen, leading to a small terrace outside, where you can eat during summer. Upstairs is the romantic bedroom and the bathroom with a luxury, modern shower cubicle.
Casa Deus was originally an almshouse, built in the Middle Ages for poor people. The house has retained its simplicity and authenticity. A perfect place for your stay in romantic Bruges.
Bruges has a unique atmosphere where you inhale history at every corner. The entire city center is recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage. A short city break is the least honour you could do to this beautiful town, also called the Venice of the North.

And now for your right-brain,
my poetic campaign...
some culture and some romance,
some authenticity at your glance
cuvée casasana champagne
your stay in Bruges will not be in vain
a sense of rest,
holidays, holy days, at their best
before the open fire,
fulfilled, your desire
in your hand a glass of wine
sometimes
life is divine
if that is what you are looking for
don’t wait to book anymore
as forever it is true
the one who makes the choice is you
Local Area DetailsBruges, with its many canals, is often called the Venice of the North. Over 2 million visitors each year come to relish the unique atmosphere of this medieval city. Discover the past in the medieval buildings, the narrow canals, the chimes of the powerful Belfry, the typical stepped gables and the Flemish architecture. Experience the contemplative atmosphere at the renowned beguinage and the nearby Lovers’ Lake. Admire the world famous paintings of the Flemish Primitives and other great artists in museums and churches. Watch history come alive before your eyes in the Procession of the Holy Blood and the Pageant of the Golden Tree. And sure, enjoy the wonderful Belgian food, the divine chocolate and the hundreds of sorts of beer. And buy some real Bruges lace for those you left behind at home!
The best way to visit Bruges is to spend at least one night in a beautiful guesthouse or holiday home like Casa Deus. Later in the evening, when the hustle and bustle of tourism has subsided, Bruges regains its charming and quiet atmosphere of old times. A stroll through the tiny medieval streets can be an enchanting experience. Bruges is always beautiful, in summer as well as winter. If you’re lucky you will never forget the sight of Bruges on a snowy December or January day.
Bruges is a unique historic town. The town authorities have done the utmost to preserve the city’s medieval image. Of course not every stone in Bruges has come to us straight from the Middle Ages. The 19th century neogothic style is more present than you imagine. Because of these 19th century renovations some critics have put Bruges down as a fake medieval city. Nevertheless, the combination of old, not so old and new fascinates everyone who first sets foot in Bruges.
