Property Details
The Cottage is on its own in a lower field a little distance from the other two house on the site.It has plenty of parking areas and a large terrace area that you can follow the sun around all day.
Kitchen fairly small but very easy to work in with gas cooker,fridge freezer,microwave,dishwasher and adequate cutlery crickery ets.A utility room with washing machine and toilet adjoins.
Lounge and dining area large pine refectory table will seat up to eight, lounge has three settees in front of the woodburning stove that also heats underfloor pipes to ensure warmth during winter breaks.
Upstairs is a bath/shower room with washbasin and toilet ina seperate room with small washbasin.
The small bedroom has two singles overlapping at the foot end and these are suitable for children or small adults.
The east bedroom has a double bed and a washbasin. the west bedroom has a double bed and a single chairbed.
Outside is a large lawned area big enough for volleyball, cricket, rounders etc. and below that leading down to the stream is a wildflower meadow that is successfully attracting wildlife such as birds and butterflies etc. We also have a number of red squirrels living in and around the site and these can frequently be seen on the climbing roses at the end of the cottage.
Local Area DetailsNotre dame du Touchet is almost midway between Mortain 15 mins ( a delightfull hilltop town with a range of shops and one supermarket) and St Hilaire di Harcouet 20 mins (a larger town with more shops and two supermarkets). St Hilaire hosts a large street market each Wednesday (try the rich yellow Normandy butter straight from the farmer!).
Mortain has a Grande & Petite cascade waterfall complex that runs alongside the town with mini canyons where you will find rock climbers each weekend. Mont st Michel and miles of clean peacefull beaches are about half an hours drive.
Many exellent and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Exellent coarse fishing and four golf courses are within easy reach. Horse riding through forests or on the beach is also avaiable.
