Wood is supplied. There is an enclosed, secure pool(11x4mtrs), which is shared with another gite for 5 people.The lawn is spacious and private, and there is a small east facing terrace for those glorious sunsets.

Local Area Details

Situated one and a half kms from the pretty village of Challignac, with its bakery and romanesque church, Barbezieux (11kms) is nearby for your shopping. Cognac, and the sandy beaches of the atlantic coast are only an hour and a half away. Tennis and horse riding are available locally. Lots of country to explore, and areas of interest.

About Local Restaurants

France is about doing lunch. There is a traditional charentais family restaurant in Bardenac, and for 11 euros you can eat as much as you want(including wine). Sunday lunch is 18 euros, but you'll hace to go into training!! There are many village fetes which you will see advertised, often by the roadside. Few restaurants are open in the evenings, but the chateau in chalais is very good.
