Situated in a peaceful hamlet less than 5 miles (7km) from the towns of Doue-la-Fontaine and Montreuil-Bellay, this gite at Les Bouchettes in St. Macaire du Bois provides a perfect base for exploring the glorious Loire region.
The gite "Le Grenier" (the old granary or grainstore) is adjacent to the main farmhouse and sleeps 5+2 persons.This property is privately owned and will open in 2007 following extensive renovations.

The gite is renovated to a high standard whilst retaining period features, and is equipped with a fully-fitted kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, as well as TV/DVD in the lounge and both bedrooms.
WiFi internet access is also available.
The property is set in a walled garden. Areas are provided at the front and back for exclusive use by guests.

French and Spanish

Local Area Details

All the world-famous chateaux of the Loire and Anjou are within easy reach and the historic towns of Saumur and Angers are only 20 mins and 45 mins drive respectively.

Other activities include day trips to towns and beaches on the Atlantic coast and cycling tours through the Loire national park and its numerous vinyards.
The sunny climate in the Western Loire is comparable to that of Poitou-Charentes with some of the highest average number of sunshine hours recorded annually.

"The climate in the Algarve region of Portugal is mild, with little rainfall and plenty of sun throughout the year, making it an ideal year-round destination. Summers are hot and sunny, but are often refreshed by cooling breezes off the coast; the farther west you go, the windier it becomes. July and August are the hottest months of the year, and can be fairly unbearable inland. The weather in the autumn and winter months is mild, and visitors will need warm clothing in the evening.
