Newly renovated to a high standard, Les Lavandes is situated in the pretty & rolling village of Saint Sorlin de Conac. A relaxing atmosphere, a calm & tranquille village. Any stress will wash away instantly.
Local Area DetailsPort Vitrezay is part of Saint Sorlin & is a natural wildlife area with restaurant, hiring of carrellet for the day for fishing and take lunch on there aswell, cycling & also there is a choice of boat trips. Or just go for a walk.
There is a river down the road from the gite if you are a keen fisherman, 2 producers of Pineau & Cognac in the village. The area is great for cycling, golf at Royan, Cognac & La Rochelle.
Moulin de Sap - Pedaloes, canoes, boats & in the evenings there is a B.B.Q., bar, creperie. Also good for fishing. 5 mins down the road.
Horse-riding in St. Thomas de Conac.
Swimming pool (25mtrs) 10 mins drive at Braud & a gym. Also at Jonzac there is a complex with lagoon and fun pool (great for adults aswell), beaty romm & weights.
Beaches start at Meschers with Plage des Nonnes with a bar/restaurant, all along this coast there are some fantastic beaches.
Zoo at La Palmyre - best zoo ever!
Plenty of Ports - Port Vitrezay (as mentioned earlier), Port Maubert (excellent restaurant), Port Mortagne with restaurants, bars to watch the world go by.
Shopping at Saintes, Royan & Bordeaux. Drive to Lormont, park up & get the tram to St. Catherine where there are some excellent shops in case you need to stock up on clothes, shoes, handbags - all necessities of course!
Cognac - distilleries of Hennesey, camus, Remy Martin etc.
There is a folder in the gite bulging with info.
