The property is a site of special scientific interest because of its outstanding conservation interests, in particular its overwintering wildfowl, nightingale colony and seventeen varieties of Dragonfly. Birdwatching is a popular pastime here. The lake has a resident population of Great Crested Grebe, Swan, Kingfisher, Reed Warbler and a variety of other birds. On rare aoccasions Bittern and Osprey have been spotted. There is excellent fishing for Pike, Roach, Tench and Perch. Carp fishing is not permitted. Bank or Boat fishing are possible and advice on hotspots can be offered on arrival.

Other places of interst within easy reach are Cheltenham, Bath, Bristol, Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. BR Station - Kemble - is our nearest main line station with regular National service connections. The nearest National coach service can also be found in Cirencester - pick up point on London Road.
