Situated in the tranquil village of Vergonzat, a peaceful hamlet 6 miles from Brive, yet only 2kms from the pretty village of Aubazine, this well appointed holiday home has large sunny grounds of 1 acre with views across open fields and its own orchard to the XII Century Abbey.
A few miles away is the lovely man-made lake of Le Coiroux, where you can swim, fish, windsurf, canoeat or just laze on the sandy beach.
All amenities can be found in Aubazine : baker ( wonderful croissants and patisserie ) , butcher, greengrocer, Pharmacist, Doctor, Post Office, several Cafes, Tabac and 3 excellent and reasonable Restaurants. The mobile shops also call in at our village most days and it is an excellent opportunity to meet the locals.
The Accomodation : Large fully equipped kitchen ( microwave, washing machine ) spacious comfortable Lounge, 2 bedrooms ( 1 Double - 1 Twin ) equipped with duvets and English pillows, Modern bathroom with bath and shower, separate WC. Secluded south facing patio with furniture, BBQ, Satellite TV.
The house is very well insulated and cool in the summer.

Local Area Details

The Lake at Aubazine-Le Coiroux offers an 18 hole golf course ( with another Restaurant ) , tennis, horseriding, swimming, canoeing,and windsurfing, and there is a sandy beach and a brand new Childrens Adventure Park. All these are just 5 kms from the house.

Brive is a beautiful town ( 65.000 inhabitants ) which has a colourful Market three days a week. It has interesting architecture and excellent Boutiques and Restaurants. Lots of walks in the many gardens or along the banks of the river Correze.There is a v. good Library, a swimming Pool and another lake for sailing and windsurfing a few miles away.
Also within easy reach are the internationally famous towns of Rocamadour, Padirac, the waterfalls of Gimel, Collonges-la-Rouge, Sarlat, Beaulieu,Turenne, Les Monedieres, etc...
Nearby are the famous extinct volcanoes of the Auvergne, many chateaux, rivers, prehistoric caves and picturesque villages.
This unspoilt and largely untouched area is famous for its gastronomic delights and fantastic scenery.
