Granville House is a delightful period house in this sought after location and a perfect base to enjoy a holiday in this popular seaside town.

The house has been completely refurbished and is newly available for the 2005 season, providing comfortable accommodation for 7 people. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard and decorated with a stylish and personal touch. The attractive furnishings complement the existing period features of the house and are unfussy with strong lines of design and a restful blend of colours.

The ground floor living area is open plan with a large brick fireplace dividing the sitting room and dining room, from which access is gained to the paved courtyard through glazed French doors, which give the room a pleasant light and airy atmosphere. The dining room is also attractively furnished with a farmhouse style table and chairs, welsh dresser and radio/CD player.

The shaker style kitchen which leads off the dining room is spacious and newly fitted with units and facilities on one side overlooking the courtyard. It is well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, washing machine, retro style fridge and plenty of storage space. A downstairs cloakroom is located at the other end of the kitchen and another half glazed door opens into the courtyard which leads to a pretty walled garden. A gate in the garden wall leads to Bank Alley, an attractive pedestrian route linking the High Street with Victoria Street.

Upstairs on the first floor are two generously sized bedrooms, one double and one twin which are attractively furnished with comfortable beds, good storage and hanging space. The bathroom is on the first floor with a shower over the bath, heated towel rail, handbasin and WC.

The second floor provides two further bedrooms, one single and one twin, which are accessed by a narrow and steep staircase with a good handrail which makes ascent easy. It is advised however that descent is made backwards, as when using a ladder (see picture). The staircase is unsuitable for very young children or the less agile. Both rooms are attractive with views towards St Edmunds Church and the lighthouse from the rear and the distinctive architecture of the Georgian houses and United Reform Church to the south.

Granville House is available for weekly rental throughout the year with the option of short breaks (three nights minimum) out of high season.

Bed linen and towels provided. High chair and cot available.

Southwold is an Edwardian Seaside town along the Heritage Coast of Suffolk, East Anglia. The town is a very popular holiday destination and has a great beach, a pier and a traditonal high street with some great shops, pubs and restaurants.

Close to Aldeburgh, Dunwich, RSPB at Minsmere and the Norfolk Broads
