Converted Riad in the centre of the ancient medina of Essaouira, which is a World Heritage Site. On 3 floors with 2 roof terraces, the accommodation consists of small salon, toilet, kitchen and eating area on ground floor, one twin bedded room and toilet/shower on first floor, one triple bedded room and one double bedded room, toilet/shower on second floor and one double bedded room and toilet/shower on first terrace. There are seats and table on this terrace and sunbeds and views of sea, medina rooftops and hills from top terrace.
Situated in a small square, the house is handy for all restaurants and shops, less than 10 minutes walk to the beach, main square and port. All linen, towels etc are supplied as is daily maid service and washing machine. Kitchen is equipped with all essentials. Traditional cooking can be organised indoors if required as can Gnaoua music evenings. Hotels just outside the medina offer use of swimming pools at a daily rate of about 50 dirhams per adult and 25 dirhams per child - there are very few hotels with pools in the medina.

Local Area Details

Essaouira is a very traditional Moroccan seaside town. Water sports include surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing. There is also land yachting available as are camel and horse rides on the beach and also in the surrounding countryside. The beach is golden sand, clean and safe with sunbeds/parasols for hire. On the Scala walls, there are cannons dated from the 1700's. The port is a working fishing port and boats are still made by hand. Traditional skills can still be seen in the souks.
