Stybarrow Cottage is a traditional Lakeland cottage which was built in the 1880s as a miners' cottage. It has been lovingly refurbished and renovated to provide comfortable holiday accommodation for up to six people. It is ideal for families, outdoor enthusiasts, walkers and climbers, couples simply wanting to get away from it all ... you!
Our cottage is located in the village of Glenridding, close to the shores of Ullswater. There are numerous walks, climbs and bike rides from the cottage door and Ullswater lake is only 5 minutes' walk away. Everywhere you look there are mountains and glimpses of the lake. You are also close to all the village amenities - shops, cafes, pubs, steamer services, petrol station/garage, tourist information centre and post office. For children there is a play area and plenty of opportunities to paddle safely in the lake.
Glenridding is at the heart of the Lake District National Park. A 30 minute drive takes you to the towns of Keswick, Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Bowness. There is also a regular bus service to Penrith and, in the summer, to Keswick and Windermere.
Make sure you book for two weeks. A week won't be long enough to explore this inspiring corner of the Lake Disrict National Park.
