Property Details

New and sunny apartment, ground floor with balcony. This well appointed and spacious apartment is set in the quiet residential development of Quinta da Gomeira, situated in the heart of the pretty seaside village of Cabanas, 3.5km from Tavira on the Eastern Algarve. Completed in 2004, it provides the ideal location for a relaxing, carefree golfing or beach holiday. Quinta da Gomeira can be reached in 45 minutes from Faro airport and is only 25 minute drive from the Spanish border. The waterfront is only a couple of minutes walk away as is the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and the historic fort of Sao Joao. From the waterfront boats ferry holidaymakers to and fro all day to what is effectively an island beach 'practically virgin and untouched'.

(NB A communal pool situated adjacent to the building is due to be ready by Summer 2005 but, at the time of writing (15/07/05) no date has been given - buti t appears to be virtually complete.)

Secure hallway with telephone entry point leads via a few steps to the ground floor hall and stairway. (The ground-floor apartment is appropriate for those who prefer no stairs to climb). Smoke alarm.
Two twin bedrooms each with two single bed and one "Put-U-Up" and fitted wardrobes.
Bathroom with bath, shower, wash basin, bidet and WC.
Lounge/dining room with two sofas, sideboard and coffee tables, fans (2), dining table and six dining chairs, radio and television.
There is a fully equipped kitchen including washing machine, electric cooker, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, toaster and fire extinguisher. This leads to a sunny south-facing enclosed corner balcony. This apartment is suitable for children and is particularly appropriate for winter lets.

Fresh bed-linen and bathroom towels are provided every seven days (including long term winter lets) and the apartments are cleaned once a week.
Pets may be allowed by special arrangement during long lets of over 4 weeks and the payment of an additional damages deposit.

Beach
The beach at Cabanas is a 3 minute walk from the apartment. The spectacular "island" beaches (reached by boat from the waterfront)of Praiha da Cabanas (4km in length)and Ilha da Tavira (11km) are backed by sand dunes and boast EC Blue Flag status with excellent swimming and water sports facilities. Manta Rota, the largest, longest (and, reputedly, the best) beach on the Algarve is a 10 to 15 minute drive.

Golf
There are five first-class courses within easy reach of the apartments making them especially suitable for golfing holidays during the cooler months of the year.

There are more courses to the west of Faro including Villamoura (50 minute drive from Cabanas) host to the World Cup in November 2005, and many more courses on the Spanish side of the border. Further information is available on request.

Travel
Faro airport is 39km from Cabanas. Further away, Seville offers an alternative airport. With beach (and Benamor golf club) so close a car is only necessary to access more beaches and golf clubs further afield. NB The railway station is 10 minutes walk away: trains go from here to Faro (and further) and to Vila Real Santo Antonio.

Local Area Details

Nearby towns include Vila Real Santo Antonio (15 minutes drive, or train) from where a ferry goes to Ayamonte on the Spanish side, Olhao and Faro to the west. Lisbon is reachable from Tavira by car, coach or train.

Day trips can be booked from a number of operators in the village. Popular destinations from Cabanas include trips to Lisbon, Fátima, Granada, Seville and Gibraltar as well as the water and sea-life park near Albufeira.
