Fur n Feathers Rainforest Tree Houses are just 90 minutes drive from Cairns. The tree houses are perched on the riverbank, in the canopy of ancient rainforest. This 100 acre property is a private wildlife sanctuary, where there are no fences and the animals choose to live here.
Habitat of rare species including Cassowary, Tree Kangaroos, as well as wallabies, possums, platypus, and birdwatchers are amazed with the birdlife. The tree houses have laundry facillities and covered car parking, a bbq and hammock on the verandah, everything in the kitchen including the dishwasher. The lounge has a woodfire, TV, Video, Phone, Internet connection, CD Player, bird books and species list. Enjoy the double spa in the bathroom, and there are two bedrooms, with king and single beds available. We hold EcoTourism Advanced Accreditation, and the property is only available for guests. Enjoy dinner with the possums and breakfast with the birds. There are several walks on the property, plus tours available. We also have a ground level Unit, which is suitable for assisted wheelchair access, or just those who don't want stairs.
Local Area DetailsThe Cairns Highlands (Atherton Tablelands), has an amazing diversified climate, from Coffee in the north to Tea in the South, all only a couple of hours apart. Crater lakes, waterfalls, tropical fruit wineries, villages, craft galleries, and world heritage forests are just some of the things to keep you enthralled for days. (That is if you can make yourself leave your tree house).
