A fully self-contained apartment known as ‘Sage’ - briefly the accommodation comprises:
· Very large living room with comfortable sofa, chairs and occasional furniture. There is a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings, satellite TV with DVD with a ‘home theatre sound’ system – we are pleased to loan DVD discs from the wide selection we have available. There is also a CD playing facility. The flooring is in Tuscan tiles with rugs.
· The kitchen area is superb – all new and beautifully fitted with microwave, full size hob and ‘built in’ oven, electric kettle, food processor with all the usual crockery and utensils – the whole being to a far higher standard than the usual holiday accommodation.
· There is a dining area off with solid hard wood table and chairs.
· The bathroom is large and well fitted with big shower cubicle, WC bidet shower and wash hand basin with mirror – again, the floor is finished with Tuscan tiles.
· The main bedroom is large with solid hardwood floors. There is a double bed, occasional table and chairs and a large wardrobe. Further sleeping accommodation is provided in the large sitting room.
· Towels and bed-linen are provided and the accommodation is cleaned prior to arrival.
The whole place is centrally heated and there is a woodburning stove for the cooler months. The views are one of the main features of the house with spectacular vistas from every window.
Guests enjoy the privacy of their own private entrance.
If your arrival would be considerably different than the normal check-in time, it is most important that you let us know the approximate time that you will arrive at Vertelli so that we can make sure that there is somebody there to greet you. Our check-out time is 10.00am - you will appreciate that we need time to clean the accommodation in readiness for incoming guests.

Local Area Details

There are many places of interest within this area of Eastern Tuscany called Casentino Valley ( http://www.welcomeincasentino.it/ilcasentinouk.htm ) and these include hill towns ( Poppi, Stia, Bibbiena.. ) and villages, vineyards and beautiful countryside which has been nationally determined as being of special natural and scientific interest ( National Park of Casentino Mountains http://www.welcomeincasentino.it/ ).

About Transport

There are several SITA buses during the day connecting Florence to the Valley and there is a bus-stop right at the end of the driveway. Althought a private car woudl give the best chances for exploring the valley.

About Weather/Climate/Temperature

The swimming pool is naturally fine from May throughout September is going to have solar panels for gaining April and October. Being 500 meters high on the hillside it gives youi the pleasure of fresh nights and a very pleasant temperature during the day even in August. Winter and Autumn are very athmospheric and perfect for seasonal activities.

About Golfing

A 9 holes very nice golf club is in Poppi which is only 7km far from the ouse and a perfect spot and a rather unusual setting for olfing in a hilly surrounding.
