Le Chai is a small converted wine chai, so it includes the barn where the wine was made & the area where the wine was stored (above ground).

Ground floor: barn door enters into the main kitchen dining area with a sofa bed. Off to one side is the main double bedroom with ensuite. There is also a Utility room with washing machine. Stairs from the kitchen area go to the 2nd floor, where there is a bathroom (with bath) and a twin bedroom overlooking the front of the house. Stairs to the 3rd floor, where there is a sun longe room with french doors opening onto a roof terrace.

Local Area Details

Bize Minervois is a small picturesque village on the north edge of the Minervois wine region, about 20 minutes from Narbonne. Rising behind Bize are the Black Mountains and the Languedoc National Park.

The Mediterranean beaches & varied coastal resort are about 40 minutes away. The area has many Cathar castles and monastries. The famous Canal du Mide is close by. The Spanish border and the Pyrenees Mountains are less than an hour and a half away.

The village: there are four restaurants in the village; a cafe bar; bakers, butchers, chemist, 2 mini markets. The river coming into the viallge is dammed in summer to make a natural swimming area. There is a tourist train to Narbonne in the summer months.
