As uncommon as Ambergris Caye is, I believe you'll find that White Sands Cove is an equally uncommon place to stay while you're on the island. We are just north of San Pedro, but the closest resort to town, so the "action" -- for those who want it -- is always just a 10-minute boat ride or longer bike ride away. Yet you'll enjoy the seclusion and intimacy of a resort that fully respects your privacy. We are right smack on the beach, with the Caribbean just a few feet from your front door, as well as several excellent restaurants and "watering holes" just a short beach-walk away. We have a lovely pool with a surround-deck, a
beachfront palapa bar, cable TV with 60 channels, a beach volleyball court, a spa w/diverse services (Swedish and deep massage, wraps, facials, etc.), an outdoor barbecue, hammocks, palm trees, bikes and --very importantly -- caring, welcoming resident management who will arrange all your excursions with the best guides, all of whom pick up our guests at our own dock, and return them there as well.

Ambergris Caye has become a very popular travel destination, after a series of articles in travel magazines, and a number of TV "survival" shows which have focused on the island's special character and attractions. Unlike other Caribbean islands, no high-rise resorts obscure the views by day or the skies at night. There are long stretches of beaches to walk; great restaurants for all pocketbooks; fun water-taxis to speed you to wherever you want to go; the sandy streets of San Pedro, where you can shop barefoot and hang out at atmospheric beachside bars, or disco or gamble (two very small operations); golf carts for exploration; very friendly "natives" who truly enjoy visitors to their island; and most of all, unforgettable adventures and excursions for adults and children to enjoy -- from snorkeling 500 yards offshore at the second largest barrier reef in the world, to swimming with sharks, to jungle cruises and Mayan ruins and cave tubing and scuba diving -- Ambergris Caye is diver's heaven, and some of the island's best certified divemasters pick up our guests all day, every day, to dive at any or many of the roughly 50 dive venues available 500 yards out at the second largest barrier reef in the world. They are fully qualified, patient, and trusted and appreciated by all of our dive guests. They also take folks out snorkeling, and have no problem if some folks want to snorkel while others dive.
