Nirvana Cabana is one of the original ski in ski out chalets located right on the slopes of Silver Star Mountain. The layout of the chalet offers a cozy warm atmosphere. Ski all day then relax and unwind in the very private outdoor hot tub on the deck overlooking Silver Star Village. Just inside the front door you'll find a specially designed area where you can shed your ski wear and hang up your boots on a unique boot rack that dries and warms them for your next outing. Plush carpet lines the floor of the living room/dining room while the glass front wood burning fireplace lends to the ambience of cabin life. The main heat source is a gas furnace. There is a bar separating the living room from the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, bean grinder, dishwasher, pots and pans, dishes and cutlery. There is a BBQ on the deck.
The bathroom is on the main floor and has a sink/vanity, toilet, tub and shower. For your entertainment pleasure there is a 25" TV and VCR, a small selection of videos, a stereo am/fm receiver and tape deck.
She sleeps eight people in three bedrooms all located upstairs. The front bedroom has one queen size bed, the rear bedroom has one double and two singles, and the side bedroom has one double bed. All of the beds have pillows and nice warm comforters.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is fast becoming the most popular family ski destination in western Canada. With 89 downhill ski runs from beginner (green) to expert (double diamond) Silver Star has something for everyone. Besides world class skiing guests skate on Brewers Skating Pond until 9:00 pm daily. Also, try tobogganning, tubing or guided snowmobile tours. The rental shop will outfit you with skates as well as take care of your other equipment need including high performance, cross country skis, snowboard and snowshoe rentals. With 85 ski pros on staff Silver star Ski School provides lessons to all abilities of skiers, snowboarders, telemarkers and cross country skiers.

Two Mountain Faces

Silver Star Mountain Resort is a scenic, year-round family vacation destination featuring an abundance of snow during winter, numerous adventure activities during summer and a cozy, comfortable and welcoming village every season.

Located 20 km (12 miles) northeast of Vernon, British Columbia, Silver Star Mountain Resort is easily accessed via air and road from the gateway cities of Vancouver and Calgary.

From mid-November to mid-April, Silver Star Mountain gives you 2,500 vertical feet, 107 runs and 1,440 acres of varied terrain.

Two mountain faces, Vance Creek and Putnam Creek, are blanketed with an average annual snowfall of 20 feet (240 in), providing an average snow pack of 245 cm (8 ft). The feather-light snow is groomed to perfection with plenty left over for the powder hounds, especially in the 300 acres of open bowl or glade terrain.

Vance Creek, the south face, features predominantly intermediate and novice terrain with a few expert options accessed from the summit.

Putnam Creek, the north face, is home to some of the most challenging terrain found anywhere. Expert runs plummet through narrow gullies and exhilarating chutes, and there are 11 double black diamond runs.

Two detachable quads, one fixed grip quad, two double chairs and two surface lifts combine for a capacity of 12,100 skiers per hour. For those with energy to burn at the end of the day, the surreal atmosphere of extensive night skiing awaits.

Snowboarders have their own park and half-pipe in Vance Creek.

Nordic skiers have 37 km of groomed and track set trails networked with 50 km of track at the adjacent Sovereign Lake area. There are 4 km of track lit for night skiing.

Silver Star Mountain annually hosts Canada's National Cross Country Ski Team for early season training and offers a variety of training camps for recreational skiers at the National Altitude Training Centre, located in the Village. This comprehensive fitness testing and training facility features wax rooms, weight training, physio- and massage therapy. On-mountain hotel guests have use of the exclusive Silver Star Mountain Health Club, located in the training center.

Rated as the most informative and friendly ski school in Western Canada, the Silver Star Mountain Ski School provides a variety of skiing, snowboard and cross-country skiing programs. With a staff of 85 professionally trained and certified professionals, every level will be sure to improve -- in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Ski school ski week packages combine lessons and lift tickets for adults and children. And the Starduster Children's Centre provides ski improvement and child care facilities for children 18 months to 8 years.

The charming Victorian-era village offers an array of friendly apres ski spots, hotels, restaurants and shops -- all radiating a welcome warmth. A fine selection of hotels, condominiums and vacation homes feature ski-in/ski-out convenience. And dining options range from casual and comfortable dining room settings to light meals and snacks. Families are always welcome and prices are modest.

Other areas of activity include the Tube Park, Brewers Skating Pond, snowshoe safaris, tobogganing and horse and wagon rides. Silver Star Snowmobile Guided Tours provide daily tours of the extensive snowmobiling area within Silver Star Provincial Park. All tours include snowmobiles, fuel and snow boots.

Cross-Country Skiing - Cross country ski trails at Silver Star have been rated among the best cross country facilities in the world. Each year, national and Olympic teams from throughout the world come to Silver Star Mountain to train, especially during the months of November and December.


Valhalla Pure Climbing Wall - Valhalla Pure Climbing Wall features varying degrees of technical requirements and difficulty. The wall is 19m wide and 7 m high with two chimneys and a bouldering cave. A challenge for all ages and lots of fun.


Snowmobiling - Tour through some of the most scenic backcountry in Western Canada. No experience is necessary as all tours include orientation and safety instruction.


Sleigh Rides - Sleigh Ride to our cozy cabin in Silver Star Mountain's Winter Wonderland where you will be greeted by Swiss folklore music and hospitality.


Ice Skating - Skate in our newly built Silver Queen Lodge, located right where Tube Town meets the skating pond, offers a 75 seat Cafeteria, full service kitchen, washrooms, skate rental and ticket purchase facilities.


Tubing - Tube Town provides the fun of tubing in a safe and controlled environment. This year we have added a state of the art tube lift; no more hiking back up the hill! We've also added about 250 new tube sleds, complete with handles.
