General description of the villa
Description of the villa in details
GROUND FLOOR
Apartment No 1: This is the largest apartment of the villa as it is consisted of three separate rooms. The bedroom is a large room with two levels - which have a "three-step" height diefference - On the upper level there are two beds, the wardrobe and the bedside tables as far as a medium size mirror at the wall, over one of the tables. On the lower level there are the other two beds, with bedside tables too. On this level there is also a fireplace and a traditional hand-made sofa-couch and an armchair, plus a little table. This is the only apartment with a chandelier.
Opposite the bedroom there are two more seperate rooms, the kitchen and the bathroom (with shower). These rooms also, have their keys for privacy.
This apartment has a large patio-veranda outside the bedroom and a smaller one outside the kitchen. Both patios-verandas have a roof over them in order to keep the veranda cool, with shade.
Apartment No 2: This is the second apartment with four beds, but here is the difference: The bedrooms are seperated by a door for privacy and have two different entry-doors from the hall (lounge) of the villa. This means two air-conditions, two T.V sets, but one bathroom (with shower) and one kitchen at the left room's space.
This apartment has a patio-veranda too, but smaller than apartment's No 1. (All other facilities per apartment are available as written in "Facilities" section).
Apartment No 3: This is the largest of the two-bed apartments and can be easily adjusted to a three-bed apartment (remains very spacy even for three people) if needed for odd number of visitors.
When you enter the apartment there is a hall before the bedroom. On the right hand there is the bathroom (with bath) and between the bath and the bedroom on your right hand too, the kitchen. The wardrobe is in this hall-area too, but at the left hand side. The hall and the bedroom are seperated by a "camara" (italian architeqture).
The bedroom has all the facilities described at the "Facilities" section, plus a fireplace and kind of a sitting-place (projection of the wall, like a couch).
This apartment has a medium size patio-veranda too.
FIRST FLOOR
Apartment No 4: This is the first apartment on the first floor, which is located at your right hand as soon as you come up the stairs. All facilities are available in this apartment too.
The bathroom in this apartment has a bath and a balcony is available too.
Apartment No 5: This is the second apartment on the first floor, which is located between apartments No 4 and No 6. This apartment has no great differences from the other two apartments mentioned above. But it has the most spacy and beautiful balcony in the villa. If you see the picture of the villa again you can see at the front view of the villa the half-rounded (half cylinder) balcony on the first floor. The bathroom in this apartment has a bath.
All facilities are available in this apartment too.
Apartment No 6: This is the third apartment on the first floor, which is located at the end of the hall an your left hand. This apartment also is similar to apartments No 4 and No 5 and it has spacy square balcony (as you can see the picture of the villa, the balcony is on the right side, close to the "half-rounded" balcony). The bathroom in this apartment has a shower.
All facilities are available in this apartment too.
The Bungalow :
This is a beautiful bungalow almost 100 years old with its unique architectual style, fully rebuilt and renovated in year 2002. The bungalow consists of its ground floor and a wood-made attic-loft which accommodates two of the three beds. The third bed is on the ground floor. The bungalow offers a luxury accommodation as every apartment of the villa and has the advantage to be entirely autonomous (independent from the villa) providing a bathroom with bath, a/c, satellite T.V, kitchenette, refrigerator, hair drier, beautiful view at the swimming pool and generally all facilities as described at the facilities section. Take a look also at the picture section.
Local Area DetailsLINDOS HISTORIC INFORMATION
Lindos was one of the three towns of the island (Ialysos, Kamiros and Lindos) before the town center of Rhodes was built. There have been found through the last two centuries many relics at Lindos which are estimated to be almost three thousand years old. The most famous leader of this historic town was "Kleovoulos", one of the "Seven Wise Men" of the ancient Greece whom all the greeks respected. He was son of "Evagoras" born in Pindos, a town of Rhodes. He claimed to be descendant of Hercules. Many apothegms (mottos) are considered as his, the most popular of which is "pan metron ariston" which means "all things in moderation".
Later, the Knights built a new castle (acropolis) using as constructive material the stones which were substracted from the classic masterpieces of the sacred and other monuments.(You can see the beautiful acropolis situated at the top of the hill, at the pictures above - The reason that the acropolis was built at the top of the hill was that Lindos was one of the most rich towns of that historic period, so many pirates were trying to conquer it. Therefore whenever pirates were seen approaching the town, all the villagers used to garrison in the acropolis, which by the way almost never was conquered through the centuries).
The mountain "Krana" which faces the castle (acropolis) was dug up and many tombs were found, one of which presents the facade of an ancient temple with 12 pillars of "doric" architectural rythm.
Today the historic town of Lindos with the narrow streets is very picturesque, as there are many buildings which were maintained untouched through the centuries, starting from the 15th century. That's the reason why the legal system of Greece provided a legistlation about protecting the architecture of traditional and historic towns in order to prevent their style and beauty from fading away through the time.
