All amenities and restaurants within 1 to 5 minutes walk: excellent reasonably priced restaurants, bars, supermarket, excursion/diving and car/bike hire centres, taxi stand, bus stops, bank and internet cafe. Beautician/hairdresser one minute walk.
Local Area DetailsSituated on the sheltered part of the island's North coast, which can be walked along for many miles. Very near a host of luxury hotels including, Merville, Club Med and Trou aux Biches with access to their reasonably priced evening entertainment. 5 minute drive or bus ride to the resort town of Grand-Baie with its charming shopping arcades, restaurants on the water's edge, bars and nightclubs. Le Jardin de Pamplemousses, the unique tropical botanical gardens (on a par with Kew Gardens) with giant indigenous tortoises, is only about 20 minutes drive away. The island's capital, Port-Louis, and its exotic open air markets and state of the art modern shopping complex, is about 40 minutes drive away. On request, we can provide the details of a reliable English/French speaking tour guide and taxi driver (Mr Naanda Mootoosamy), who can drive you from the airport to the flat and take you back when you leave. You can also hire Nanda for daily excursions to any part of the island during your stay. His taxi is air-conditioned and rates reasonable
