The Christmas Cottage is located just 2 miles off Interstate 91 at Vermont Exit 7, on a 70 acre working Chistmas tree farm. It is nestled in the Connecticut River valley between the river and the Skitchewaug Mountain. It is in a very private and quiet location on the farm with beautiful views of the valley from a large front porch. Our private dock on the river is just a short stroll, where we offer a canoe, a rowboat and lots of tubes for frolicing in the clean and clear waters of the Connecticut. There is very little traffic on the road - a safe place for children and pets, with lots of things to do in the area. Bicycling along the river is a favorite pastime of our guests.
Local Area DetailsThe Springfield village center is about 5 miles away and has a supermarket, a hospital, several banks, restaurants and other shops. More extensive shopping may be found in Claremont,NH, 20 minutes away. The farm is also within easy reach of Hanover, NH, the home of Dartmouth College, where cultural activities take place throughout the year. Nearby is the Montshire Museum, in Norwich, VT, noted for its hands-on exhibits for children. We have two golf courses and 5 ski areas within easy driving distance. This is an important tourist area and a great location since nothing in Vermont is more than two hours away.
