Local Area DetailsCalahonda is a coastal town about 30 minutes drive from Malaga International Airport, and 20 minutes drive from Puerto Banus/Marbella. The apartment is a 1 minute walk from Calahonda’s main commercial centre, El Zocco, home to the local bars, restaurants and shops.
For the golfers there are approximately 30 golf courses in a 40 mile radius of Calahonda.
Calahonda is on the coast between Malaga and Marbella. Short trips can be made to Benalmadena, Fuengirola, the hill-side old town of Mijas with its bull ring, the more Spanish coast town of La Cala de Mijas, and Marbella and Puerto Banus. Local attractions include: Benalmadena cable car, Seaworld marina, and Tivoli fun park; Fuengirola aquapark and zoo; and beyond Marbella, Selwo safari park. Day trips can be made to Gibralter and picturesque Ronda. Dolphin watching trips can be taken from Gibralter. Just across the narrow Straits of Gibralter, trips can be arranged to visit Tangiers in Morocco.
