Seafront Apartments are within a Victorian terraced house and those to the front have magnificent views. Each is double-glazed, centrally heated and each self-contained. Visitors comment on quietness – despite closeness to amenities - and many return regularly, and call the apartments “home from home�. Many visitors return regularly. Mobility buses are at the door. Newcastle’s metro system is 3 minutes walk, as are restaurants, carryouts, food shops, off-licence, hairdressers and newsagent. Apartments have bedlinen and towels and kitchens are fully equipped including fridge, cooker, microwave, toaster & kettle. Bathrooms have showers and most also baths. Stairlifts access first and second floors. The apartments share a laundry room with washer and drier. The yard has covered drying and storage space for bicycles, fishing rods, diving equipment and surfboards. Children’s games are available, as well as a stocked bookcase and extensive information brochures on the region. Seafront Apartments are ideally suited for business or leisure, and have an unrivalled position located centrally above, and looking onto, Cullercoats Bay. The popular bay is small, enclosed and protected by two piers. The golden beach was awarded the coveted blue flag in 2004 for overall cleanliness of the sand and water. In the summer months lifeguards trained to European standards patrol local beaches. Whitley Bay beach, to the north of Cullercoats, and Tynemouth Longsands and King Edwards Bay adjoining to the south, also proudly carry the blue flag in 2004. Tynemouth is host to the Great Britain 2003 and 2004 surfing championships, and has hire and lesson facilities. Much of the area around Seafront Apartments is flat and enjoyed by wheelchair users.
