The Property
Le Refuge holiday home is a 3 bedroom stone house with its own private fenced swimming pool. It is situated in a good size hamlet called
Villefloure (Village of flowers). There is a panoramic view of the surrounding hills which are complemented by the Pyrénées mountains in
the distance; these are all in view from the terrace, swimming pool and almost wherever you walk within the property.
Accommodation
The main house sits on 4000 m2 land with a mature and pleasant garden (the garden is maintained regularly). Children need supervision.
Fenced swimming pool with salt water filter system, a healthier alternative to Chlorine.
2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom.
Bathroom: - Bath with overhead shower. Separate W/C.

Kitchen/dinning area with open fireplace and French windows opening onto terrace. Kitchen is fully equipped with range cooker,
dishwasher, washing machine and Fridge/Freezer.
Large outside terrace with BBQ and garden furniture so you can enjoy meals in the open air either in the shade or in the sun whichever you prefer.
Living room: with TV, Video, DVD and CD player. Recently redecorated with exposed beams.
Location, Travel and Amenities:
Only 6 km (4 M) from the nearest village of Leuc with all amenities including a Pharmacy, Tabac, Boulangerie, Post Office, etc. 10 km (6.25 M) from the Motorway and Shopping Centre. 14 km (8.75 M) from the medieval fortified town of Carcassonne, (world heritage) overlooking the river Aude and the Canal du midi, where you can hire a pleasure boat. Only 45 minutes drive from the Mediterranean and one of the finest golden beaches in France: Narbonne Plage. 1 hour drive from Toulouse. 1 hour drive to one of the many ski resorts in the area - winter holiday.
Carcassonne has its own airport: approx. 20 mins drive, and also it is possible to fly to Toulouse (approx. 1 hr.10 mins drive), Montpellier (approx. 1hr 45 mins drive), Perpignan (approx. 1 hr 22 mins drive) and Barcelona (approx. 3 hr 16 mins drive).

Canoe-kayak Rafting: The river Aude has its source in the Pyrénées and runs towards the Mediterranean sea. One can navigate for 170 km of its length in various waters : foaming waters for thrill seekers or quiet waters without any risk for family canoeing.

Climbing: Around Carcassonne and in the Haute Vallée you will find ideal natural cliffs to climb. Beginners or specialists will always find their level of cliff. In this area climbing is possible all year round, most cliffs are sheltered and shaded in the afternoon.

Mountain bike: The area is ideal for cycling and mountain biking. You can practise this sport all year round. Many touristic and sporting tracks will help you discover our historical and cultural heritage. For easier rides on flat ground, try the banks of the Canal du Midi.

Horse-riding: Many routes to discover in the Pyrénées or the Corbières, riding along tracks as prestigious as the Sentier Cathare or the Transéquestre.
Fishing: Pyrenean rivers, managed lakes, Canal du Midi are just some of the numerous fishing spots ! Sporting or family fishing.

Cross-country skiing: many pistes available for example - Col du Chioula - Alt. 1240 m - 1650 m, 60 km of marked and swept piste, all the pistes are marked in two ways. The pistes snake through the trees and follow the forest tracks. Superb natural framework. snowshoes, sledging, play area. In summer mountain bike trails.
Dogsledge: Plateau de Beille - Lots of snow, splendid views, 12 km of dogsledge tracks, snowshoes and walking.
Other activities include discovering trapping or how about a weekend in an igloo! In summer mountain biking and horse riding.
