Property Details
"Les Jardins de la Source" is an ideal destination for those looking for peace and tranquility, but who nevertheless wish to spend their holiday within walking distance of all their needs.
This 200 year-old property is located in a tiny side street just off one of Clermont l'Herault's main thoroughfares where dozens of cafes, restaurants and shops are to be found. It is a hundred yards away from the bustling weekly market place and the splendid medieval church. But because it is set back from the street, with the sole access an imposing gateway into an enclosed courtyard, one could not imagine a more peaceful setting.
Each of our four apartments sleeps 2-4 people. The salon contains a comfortable full size double sofa-bed as well as a standard double bed in each bedroom. Both main rooms have access both to the apartment's own terrace and to the vestibule (which offers plenty of hanging and storage space) and from there into either the kitchen or the shower room/WC.
Breakfast is included in the price of your stay.

We do not accept animals or, normally, children under the age of 15; we are an entirely non-smoking establishment.

Local Area DetailsThe centre of Clermont l'Herault is a typical Languedocienne medieval hill
town overlooked by the ruins of its XIth century castle. The splendid XIIth century church faces the large shaded market place where every Wednesday
over a hundred vendors set out their stalls abounding with local produce.
Les Jardins de la Source is situated less than a hundred yards away, just
off the main boulevard which widens into the XVIIIth century main square
with a profusion of shops, cafes and restaurants with traditional
interiors and tables outside for al fresco dining.
The modern part of the town, also within easy reach, contains several large hypermarkets for your more basic needs. The local wine collective is also a short walk: you can taste the various wines before buying!
Traffic is never a problem in such a small town, and within a few minutes you can be at the Lac du Salagou where you swim, sail, or indulge in other
watersports.
The surrounding area contains a large number of picturesque villages, such as the famous St Guilhem le Desert, or you can start to drive up into the high Cevennes within a few miles - or even walk if you are feeling energetic! Next to St Guilhem is the stunning grotto, Grotte de Clamouse, a real underground adventure should you tire of being in all that sunshine at any time. A nd of course the new motorway (A75) takes you speeding southwards, almost all the way to the sea, only 25 miles away, to the celebrated Cap d'Agde (which contains a naturist colony) or to one of the quieter local beaches. On the way home, stop for a drink in Pezenas, with its imposing XVIth century squares and streets, where Moliere spent much of his life and wrote many of his works.
