The house Berghof-Punzenlehen****, an old fief, is located 150km south-east of Munich and 25km west of the Mozart´s City of Salzburg (Austria) in Upper Bavaria, the southest province of Germany, between the Town Berchtesgaden and Ramsau, above the German Alpine route. The ideal location in the midst of the magnificent mountain landscape makes it a perfect starting point for lovely hikes and car tours.

The town Berchtesgaden and the Alpine National Park are situated around the mountain Watzmann and Lake Königssee and belong to the world´s leading holiday spots. Destinations such as Königsee, Obersalzberg-Eagles-Nest, Wimbach Gorge, Lake Hintersee and Jenner Cable Car, can all be reached in just minutes by car. The neighboring Salzburg province also offers countless day trips destinations. Mozart´s City of Salzburg is just 20 minutes away.

Coming by Autobahn from either Munich or Innsbruck, exit at Bad Reichenhall,
coming from Salzburg and Vienna, Autobahn exit Berchtesgaden (highway toll sticker).
A nice way to arrive is via the German Alpine Road (B 305).

The historical town center boasts decorated façades, churches and the Royal Palace. Perched on a hillside is the famous pilgrimage church of Maria Gern, a Baroque jewel set in an exquisite alpine jewel box.

The Mozart´s City of Salzburg is known as a baroque jewel in the heart of Europe, only 20 km (12 miles) away from our house Berghof Punzenlehen****. The historic city with its ancient, winding alleyways, was home to Mozart. A cultural must on any trip to central Europe, Salzburg has a store of sights and sounds to offer. Apart from its architectural highlights, an abundance of concerts and world class cultural events are offered - not only during the famed Salzburg Summer Festival - but throughout the year as well. The city and its surroundings were also the stage for the 1964 filming of the 'Sound of Music', probably still the most popular and well-loved musical film ever made. Salzburg´s Airport is also a practical way for travelers to reach Berchtesgaden.
