It is a peaceful private sanctuary, with all modern conveniences, breathtaking views, a private beachfront where you can swim in the mellow salt water, explore tidal pools, surround yourself with the experience of the ocean sounds of surf, walk for miles on the sculpted sand beach, or enjoy pastoral fields, and wooded and brookside walkways. The wildlife includes land and shore birds, eagles, osprey, owls, rabbits, raccoons, fox, and deer.

Guests can relax with such activities as long walks on the beach in an area famous for fossils and rock specimens (including amethyst crystals), and ocean swimming.
There are many nearby local attractions including Maitland Village, home of the world's largest sailing vessel, with its historic houses and the Lawrence House Museum. There are other excellent local museums in Selma and South Rawdon; and there's the lighthouse in Walton.

Then there's thrilling rafting on the tidal bore, a fossil tour along a local beach, the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park, Mastodon Ridge Museum (a fossil display and life-size replica of an 89,000 year old mastodon whose bones were found in this area), eco-tourism, and good local restaurants.

A fully-serviced picnic park is available close by at Burntcoat Head Park, site of the world's highest recorded tides (approximately 16 meters - 52 feet). Horseback riding and riding lessons are available at several nearby locations. Sea kayaking, guided expeditions including an eagle tour, and outfitters are also available close by in Maitland. All of this is only one hour from Halifax with its big city attractions. In the other direction lies the Annapolis Valley with its vistas of orchards, farms, whale-watching, golf courses and vineyards. Shore Haven is far from the hustle and bustle of city life; yet it's still close to all that the city offers, if you choose.

This custom built, modern house of exceptional quality provides superb, luxury accommodations. The main level offers over 1000 square feet of first-class living space. It is wonderfully designed to capitalize on the amazing ocean views and great floods of light. The living room, dining room, and kitchen offer a spacious open-concept layout - with huge windows looking out over the water. For an outdoor view of the water, patio doors lead from the dining area onto the large deck - complete with a gas barbecue. All of this is tastefully decorated with comfortable and classic contemporary furniture, hand-crafted leaded-glass light fixtures, and original art. And there are ceramic floors.

The gourmet kitchen with hand-built butternut cabinetry is completely equipped with six full-size appliances - a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, washer, dryer, and microwave. Amenities include quality stainless steel cutlery and superb Lagostina stainless cookware.

The main level has two spacious bedrooms -- both with queen-size beds and parquet flooring. The master bedroom is furnished with contemporary Scandinavian teak furniture and a daybed. It features an en-suite door to the four-piece bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom offers a wonderful view of the water, and has furnishings which include a brass bed and an antique bureau.

The ground floor of the house available is a bright 900 square-foot area with the same wonderful views as upstairs and is outfitted with quality furnishings. There is a bedroom with a queen-size bed, an office/bedroom with twin size beds and a desk, a three-piece bath (toilet, sink, and luxury sit down shower), and a comfortable family room.

This spacious luxury house is located on sixty tranquil acres of meadow and woodlands with over 1000 feet of beach front with a private access. No Smoking Please. Amenities include satellite TV, a mini-stereo, a portable telephone with voice mail, a fax machine, a selection of books (including cookbooks), games, and bicycles. For our little guests, we provide a safe and separate spot for their very own "Club House or Playhouse." We also provide scent-free laundry and dishwasher soaps; all of our linens are free of scented fabric softener products. Home is available Year Round, monthly only from November through April.
