Torrox is actually divided into two parts, the upper village nestling in the mountains with its Moorish influence and the lower village, on the coast reflecting its Roman origin. More recent sites of historical interest include the sixteenth century convent and the imposing eighteenth century parish church.
Torrox Costa (the lower village) boasts 9km of beach, most of which has been awarded the Blue Flag.
