PORT SORELL is situated on the North West Coast of Tasmania and is known today as the "Port of Golden Beaches". It is the hidden "jewel" of Tasmania, because it boasts a climate not that dissimilar to the mediterranean, with low rainfall and a high level of sunshine throughout the year. It is protected by Narawntapu National Park, which you can visit and discover the Tassie Devil, Wombats and Forester Kangaroos. You can enjoy various activities in the area, golf, tennis, bowling or a visit to the local Country Club for a round of pokies. Why not take a stroll along the walking and bicycle tracks, or maybe have a dip in the clear blue ocean. Many water sports, such as jet and water skiing, board riding, and fishing from the jetty are enjoyed by visitors to the area. Sails on Port Sorell is the perfect base to discover the North West Region, take a day trip to the Nut at historic Stanley, or a walk on Cradle Mountain, why not visit the wineries in the Tamar Valley or take the chair lift at Cataract Gorge in Launceston. Other day destinations are Mole Creek, Leven Gorge or Dismal Swamp.
