Local Area Details

The closest village to Turre is Mojacar Pueblo (Village)just 3 km. drive -and part of it can be seen from the apartment. Mojacar is an enchanting Moorish village, nestled between the Mediterranean and the Sierra Cabrera mountains, with narrow winding streets of whitewashed houses opening out into small Plazas.

Turre is an ideal base from which to explore the real Andalucia - the countryside and surrounding villages have altered very little over the centuries. Mojacar's beach, just 5 mins drive from Turre, is over 4 kilometres long, windsurfing and sailing are just two of the watersports available. Browse for bargains in the colourful local markets, the Rastro on Sundays, Garrucha Market on Fridays.

Turre is 10 mins away from Mojacar Playa (beach). Mojacar Playa with sandy beaches, stretches for 9km beneath the ancient village of Mojacar extending as far as the eye can see in both directions. New developments include restaurants, bars, shops, villas and apartments all tastefully built in keeping with the traditions of the area. Surrounded by the sea on one side and the magnificent mountains of the Sierra Cabrera to the rear Mojacar paints an enchanting picture - you would surely love it.

Ideal base if you are a golf enthusiast and wish to play at any of the golf courses in the area, Desert Springs, Valle Este, Marina de la Torre, Cortijo Grande Other local activities include tennis, squash, walking, horse riding, bowls, flying, swimming, scuba diving, fishing, and sailing. Turre is situated on the south-east coast of Spain in the Andalucia region between Almeria and Murcia. An excellent motorway system joins both cities. Turre enjoys about 350 days of sunshine a year and a very dry climate. In the summer temperatures can rise to 35º. For those who like it very hot July and August are the months to go with an average of about 32º+/- (Night-time temperatures average 22 deg.) Being very dry it is wonderful for those with and aches and pains. Also the lack of air pollution makes it a haven for asthma sufferers.
