Local Area DetailsKalkan has been transformed in recent years into one of the most sought after holiday destinations on the Mediterranean coast, attracting a similar clientele to that of Tuscany and Umbria yet remaining untouched by mass tourism. A delightful village with quaint cobbled streets and handsome bougainvillea draped houses fronting the harbour filled with local yachts and fishing boats. Excellent restaurants with numerous quality shops for that all important stroll after dinner.
The village has a small local beach and numerous bathing platforms but a short bus ride takes you to Patara, with 18 km of golden sand and not a single building in sight – a worthy rival to Olu Deniz
