Local Area Details

In a truly wonderful location in the heart of the Orihuela Costa and just 10 mins walk to La Zenia beach, residential San Jose is ideally positioned, near such popular areas as Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia and of course the rapidly growing golf community in Villamartin, Las Ramblas & Campoamor.

Cabo Roig lying 8km south of Torrevieja is often referred to a the jewel of the Southern Costa Blanca, it is a headland sticking out into the Mediterranean with 2 Blue Flag beaches and a marina. The area is easily accessible from Alicante Airport which is a 35 minute drive away and Murcia Airport being even closer at only 20 minutes away.

With Alicante, Murcia, Orihuela, Elche and La Manga del Mar Menor all within an hour's drive you will never fall short of places to visit. Equally you can enjoy a superb holiday with our villa as your base without the need for a car. All the services that you will need can be found within easy walking distance. Public transport to and from Torrevieja is reliable and inexpensive. The Villa is ideally situated with shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and beautiful beaches all within walking distance.

For the Golfers there is a choice of three Championship golf courses all within minutes drive of the villa. Within a few minutes walk is the Orihuela Costa Club with it?s restaurant, bar, gym, swimming pool, tennis courts and an open air cinema.

The area has a unique micro-climate and enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year and average temperatures that rarely drop below 20 degrees C.

The World Health Organisation which is an official body actually recommends the area around Torrevieja as having one of the most healthy climates in the world. This is due to what the experts call a "micro-climate" unique to this area and just a few others around the world. It is caused by the combination of the constant year round warm temperatures but more importantly by the two huge salt lakes on the edge of the town. These natural lagoons are now protected natural park areas frequented by all sorts of wildlife such as Flamingos, but also they have the affect of drying the air through releasing salt deposits into the atmosphere. This has the added benefit of making the air very healthy, in particular for anyone unfortunate enough to suffer with health problems related to joints such as arthritis.
