It is situated in a hamlet, perched on the rocky outcrop of "La Dive" which has stunning views over open fields to the bay of L'Aiguillon. On clear days you can see the island of Re. 3 miles along the coast takes you to L'Aiguillon sur Mer, with it's fishing port, shops and restaurants, or to the nearest beach, on the point facing La Rochelle and the island of Re. There is a sea-food restaurant within cycling distance, whilst 3.7 miles inland takes you to the charming village of St Michel en L'Herm (shops, bars, restaurants). Bird-watchers will enjoy the immense variety in this area, from owls in the rock faces to sea birds on the lagoons and birds of prey in the fields. Comprises:
Large open-plan lounge/dining room with fireplace (logs available in low season), TV (French channels), hi-fi, well equipped kitchen (including dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, breakfast table, door to terrace), double bedroom, bathroom with corner bath and shower over, bedroom with bunk beds - leading to adjoining studio with mezzanine double sleeping area (NB: steep ladder access), bathroom with toilet, kitchenette, door to further sparate terrace on the far side of the cottage. Outside 25/6 to 3/9 this extra studio is not available, hence sleeps 4 and lower prices.

Beaches: - Other than the nearest beaches on the point, 5 miles takes you to La Faute sur Mer, superb sandy beaches, stretching along 12 miles of coastline, with dunes and pine forests, including La Tranche sur Mer (water-sports, windsurfing, jet-skis, sailing), round to the port of Jard sur Mer and the cliffs and secluded bays of Le Point du Payre.
Nearest restaurants: - One within cycling distance and futher choice at L'Aiguillon sur Mer (3 miles), sea-food specialities. You can buy mussels and oysters direct from the producers at the port of L'Aiguillon.
