CONVERTED MILL NEAR CHARENTE / DORDOGNE BORDER
Situated in the Poitou-Charentes region in the south west of France, Moulin de Chamby is in a peaceful, rural country setting in the small hamlet of Les Pins, 5 miles from la Rochefoucauld. Les Pins is about 60 miles south of Poitiers and is within a days drive from the channel ports (Approximately 300 miles from Caen, Le Havre, Cherbourg and St Malo, and 450 from Calais) Alternatively, flights with Buzz from Stansted to Poitiers or Limoges are extremely good value and they also offer discounted car hire. The drive from either airport is about 45-50 minutes. It is also possible to fly from Gatwick to Bordeaux.

For complete relaxation, experience the peace and quiet of our converted water mill nestling in a wooded valley on the edge of a small hamlet, situated in 5 acres of mature secluded gardens along the banks of the little river Bonnieure, including three small islands. There is fishing on site (or from cottage window!). The area is dotted with small vineyards and fields of sunflowers, maize and wheat. A large variety of wild flowers abound in the hedgerows and there are many country walks.
Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure and small market town of La Rochefoucauld are each about 5 miles away, the nearest large city is Angouleme, about 18 miles.
A perfect place to unwind and relax, or, to use as a base for excursions to some of the best attractions in France, including the Bordeaux wine region, La Rochelle and miles of unspoilt beaches and, of course, the famous town of Cognac with it's distillery tours and festivals. Within easy reach of beaches on Atlantic coast, Bordeaux, Limoges and the Futuroscope science and technology park just outside Poitiers. This area enjoys some of the best weather in France, with a high number of sunshine hours per year, second only to the Côte d?Azur. There is plenty to see and do to suit all ages and interests.
