Local Area Details

We recommend car hire to take full advantage of all the attractions that Lanzarote has to offer. The villa is within 5 minute drive of the centre of Playa Blanca with its range of shops, bars, restaurants, excellent selection of beaches & regular ferry/hydrofoil travel to Fuerteventura.

It is a short walk to bakery, bars, restaurant, balti bar and mini-mart and to the longest promenade walk in Europe stretching to the beautiful beaches of Papagayo. The nearest sandy beach - Playa Flamingo is a 20 minute walk.3 minute drive away. This beach is almost lagoon like with its seawall, so is very suitable for children. There are other beaches to choose from, close by in Playa Blanca and Papagayo is a must to visit. These are half a dozen beautiful white sandy bays, sheltered between rocky headlands, regarded by many as some of the best in the whole of Spain and the Spanish islands. The newly built Marina Rubicon with its high quality shops, bars and restaurants, diving school and sailing school is also well worth a visit and with its wooden decking reminded us of Naples in Florida.

The area is a beautiful spot to sit with a drink and watch the sunset. Playa Blanca as a resort offers fantastic beaches, various water sports/rides, scuba diving, boat trips, children's play-park, bungee trampolines, mini golf, ferry to Fuerteventura, shops, bars, cafe's, fun-pubs, restaurants, nightclub.
