MULERNA – A TUSCAN FARMHOUSE RENTAL

Mulerna is a rustic tuscan farmhouse surrounded by olive groves and vines with superb views of the beautiful Lucchese hills.
This cosy 200 year old rural tuscan villa is a mile from the local village of Ponte a Moriano (with all amenities) and just 6 miles from Lucca, an attractive old walled town, full of cultural treasures but with a more relaxed air than her bigger, more cosmopolitan sisters of Florence and Sienna – both of these also within easy reach. The Mediterranean and Versillia coast is just 40 minutes drive away. The beautiful, wild Garfagnana region is also reached within the hour.
The house, approached by a winding track, is surrounded by terraced land and built on several levels with beamed ceilings throughout. The brick and terracotta tiles and simple tuscan farmhouse style furnishings makes Mulerna an easy to run, ideal holiday home with both character and charm.
There are four bedrooms each with double occupancy. On the upper levels, three bedrooms, double, twin and one with bunk beds, and a large family bathroom with shower, bidet, wc. and wash basin.
On the lower ground floor there is a double bedroom with a door leading to the garden and an en-suite shower, bidet,wc. and wash basin. All bedrooms have free standing fans.
On the ground floor, a large family room with plenty of comfortable seating and large windows opening onto a terrace with panoramic views over the tuscan hills.
A smaller sitting room with open fireplace, leads onto a slightly lower level country kitchen with a large chestnut dining table, dishwasher, 2 fridges, microwave, gas cooker etc. There is a washing machine in the celler below.
A fenced swimming pool area and lawn is situated on terraced land just above the house, surrounded by olive trees and roses and with lovely views across the valley. There is an old forno with attached barbecue, also a free standing ‘barbi’ to use by the pool or beside the outside marble dining table if you wish.
Although the farmhouse is secluded, it is by no means isolated. This tuscan holiday home sleeps 8 + an infant (cot and high chair), has full central heating and is available for year round rental.

Local Area Details

Mulerna is about a mile from the bustling village of Ponte a Moriano with its weekly market, bank, chemist,shops,bars and numerous restaurants (including one Michelin rated. There is also a large supermarket and 24hr cashpoint.
The old walled town of Lucca is only a few miles away and Florence, Pisa and the beaches of the Versillia coast are all within the hour. Further north lies the beautiful, unspoilt, mountainous region of the Garfagnana and the spas of Bagni di Lucca.
