La Fermette is part of a traditional Poitou Charentes farmhouse converted
into two spacious gites in the heart of the Deux Sevres countryside and has
a bright, comfortable living room with modern well-equipped corner kitchen
with gas cooker/oven,dishwasher,washing machine,microwave, fridge/freezer
and sufficient utensils,crockery and cutlery to cater for 12 persons, a
double sofa bed, settee and two armchairs, large farmhouse table to seat 8+
persons and TV. for use with video,books and games for adults and children.
Also on the ground floor is a large w.c/shower room with oodles of hot
water. Curved stairs lead to a well lit landing leading to a double bedroom
(2 singles) and a large family room ( 1 double 1 single with room for a
further fold up bed, supplied with the gite), but beds can be rearranged to
suit individual needs.
There is a gazebo in the garden for shade, under which is a garden table
and 6 chairs, with a brick bbq. close by, and a table and chairs with
umbrella at the front of the gite for the first cup of tea of the day or the
last few drinks of a candle lit balmy evening while keeping an ear open for
the sleeping children.
The pool is 30ft long, 15ft wide and approx 4ft deep, ideal for swimming,
splashing about or just keeping cool and is above ground making it safer for
children.

There is so much to discover in this ' undiscovered 'part of France. The immediate area offers bird watching, nature trails, fishing, walking, horse riding, rock climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, and there is a great old fashioned funfair theme park with lots of rides suitable for younger children (and no queuing!!) all in the beautiful river gorge 10 mins away and an international go-karting track.A short car ride will take you to several excellent golf courses, the Pescalis fishing complex, the famous Puy du Fou, a fantastic natural zoo in Doue la Fontaine, Troglodyte villages, Loire valley and Saumur. A little further La Rochelle and the coast, Futuroscope, and the Loire Chateaux.
