The house is less than 2km from the centre of the spa town of Bagneres de Luchon with its thermal baths, shops ,restaurants and supermarkets
This is fantastic walking country and the GR10 footpath runs through the village - local sights include:
LAC D’OO -Glacial lake less than 20 km away.
WATERFALLSOne visible from the house and only a 10 min walk away
Renowned Cascades at Montaban de Luchon with Michelin listed restaurant.
HOSPICE DE FRANCE - starting point for a 3 hour walk to port de Vanesque
SUPER-BAGNERES - A ski resort with fantastic views over the town, valley, and many Pyrenean peaks, offers a range of activities throughout the year. Also reached from cable car from town.
VALLE DE LYS - A spectacular scenic route leading to a 40m waterfall
COL DE PEYRESOURDE -At 1569m it is often on the Tour de France. There is a café on the top of the Col, and a forest behind. On either side of the Col are the two high ski resorts of Agudes and Peyragudes for the more serious skier.
ARTIGUE -A small hamlet with access to the GR10 walking route.
OEUIL VALLE -A pretty valley with plenty of viewpoints and picnic spots.
PIC D’ANETO -The highest peak of the Pyrenees at 3404m (approx. 13000ft.)
