Horses, free-range hens, rare-breed Berkshire pigs & very friendly dog called Hamish. Loads of antiques, paintings, crystal & china. French linen on beds, fluffy bathrobes, comfortable beds. All food provided from local producers - everything is locally sought, bought and caught. Guests stay on a 'fully serviced' basis with all meals provided - leisurely breakfasts, proper dinner parties and lots in between.........open all year including Christmas and New Year. Bring your own boots, bikes or horses - House Parties are our speciality.
Local Area DetailsLower Buckton is situated in a tiny hamlet called Buckton, Near Leintwardine and just 10 miles west of Ludlow in Shropshire. This area is known as Mortimer Country - off the beaten track on the Hereforshire/Shropshire borders where England meets Wales. Well placed for exploring the Welsh Marches, castle hunting and steeple-chasing for those rare and special churches and chapels which abound in this area. Walking in complete unspoilt country with always a good pub or tea-shop to head for........stay at any time of year..........always a warm welcome and cakes fresh from the AGA!
